The people of Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary take care of chimpanzees that were confiscated or rescued within Uganda. They also provide a high quality educational experience for visitors as well as they do benefit the island local communities.
Ngamba Island offers a one-month volunteer program for Ugandan nationals only. For those people outside of Uganda who wish to visit, the “Long Stay Visitor Program” offers a unique, hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of the sanctuary.
